Welcome back to our Saint Meinrad alumni! Whether you are celebrating a special class anniversary, catching up with classmates and professors, or wanting to spend some time in prayer and reflection, we hope you enjoy your time back home.
Sunday, July 21
Registration, Dinner, Prayer, Reception, Movie
Registration for the Alumni Reunion will be held from 2 p.m. - 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 21st. Dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m. and a reception will be held in Alumni Commons at 7:30 p.m. You will be free to pray with the monastic community for Vespers (5 p.m.) and Compline (7 p.m.). A viewing of the documentary on Mr. Rogers, Won't You Be My Neighbor will be screened in St. Bede Theater at 8 p.m.
Monday, July 22
Golf Scramble, Workshops, Guided Tours, Anniversary Class Banquet, Concert
Father Denis Robinson, OSB, (top left) monk of Saint Meinrad and President-Rector of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology will present on Monday, July 22, on "iGen: Preaching the Gospel to the next generation."
Bob O’Connor O’71 (bottom left), director of The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Edition Project at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, will give an afternoon workshop on his work and will have volumes of the Saint John’s Bible on display (bottom right), while David Orberson MTS’05 (top right) will present on his new book published by Cascade Books entitled Thomas Merton –Evil and Why We Suffer (2018).
A Golf Scramble will be held at Christmas Lake Golf Course in Santa Claus, IN at 10 a.m.
Guided tours of Saint Meinrad by Br. Zachary, OSB and the Abbey Caskets facility by Jenny Keller will be at 3 p.m. Also, a concert will be performed by an alumni band entitled "Messengers' 50th Anniversary: How Can We Keep From Singing Farewell Concert" in the evening.
Tuesday, July 23
Day of Recollection, Guided Tours, Alumni Reunion Mass and Banquet
Father Brendan Moss, OSB, (left) monk of Saint Meinrad and President-Rector of Conception Seminary College in Missouri, will offer a Day of Recollection on Tuesday, July 23, entitled "Be Hearers and Doers of the Word."
A guided tour of Saint Meinrad along with another guided tour of Abbey Caskets will take place at 1:15 p.m.
Bishop Joseph Siegel C’84 (right) of the Diocese of Evansville will preside and preach at Tuesday afternoon’s Reunion Mass in the Archabbey Church.
This year’s distinguished alumnus award will be received by Mary Ann Olmsted SS’82, Deacon Frank Olmsted SS’79, and William "Bill" P. McGuire O’64 at the Alumni Reunion Banquet in Newman Dining Room Tuesday evening.
